My response…

to a sermon I heard at Hillsong London last week by Rich Wilkerson. Shockingly, I was less than impressed. I am not going to bash or judge someone else’s preaching but, as I was journaling about this I felt the need to proclaim these truths in my life:

Loving your neighbor as yourself sometimes means bringing people onto your boat (into your life) that test or tempt your faith; but they can also make you a stronger follower of Jesus. Everyone has groups of friends in their life in which they are the smartest, most faithful person - a person who can be a light and lead - and other groups of friends and mentors where we might be the most meek, mild, and weak Christian who has much to learn from those people. We are called to both, enriched by both, and our faith is deepened by these balances in our lives.

If we live our life in a way that judges people based on if they make us a better Christian or not, than we are missing out on Jesus’ mission on earth. We aren’t called to shut people out. We are called to love people, to serve people, and to be lights to people.

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:17)

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.

On Monday we had the most beautiful worship time at The Remedy. A worship experience that will forever be etched into my mind. The entire worshiping community was singing, at the tops of their lungs, with arms outstretched, and tears streaming down their faces …

The lost are found
The blind will see
The lame will walk
The dead will live
And You are God
Forever You will reign

We sang it maybe 25 times … just over and over again proclaiming - people were shouting, praying, on their knees - truly  worshiping and proclaiming God over our campus. I was in awe. With tears streaming down my own face, all I could is watch and listen and rejoice and worship a God who can bring revival to Concordia. What a fire is here. Let it not ever extinguish.
